April and May have been overwhelmingly wonderful at the South Whidbey Academy. The weather has invited summer attire and outdoor learning on a daily basis. Students from the middle school science class and high school garden elective class have been busy at work, making improvements to the Magical Garden, transplanting the former Bayview greenhouse onto its new home grounds, and constructing over 200 feet of terrace garden space complete with baby vegetables and herbs. These efforts began on April 1st, just under two months ago. Each day the garden grows stronger and more beautiful due to the selfless efforts of the students, community members and school staff. Please allow us to share with you some slideshows outlining our progress over these two months. And feel free to stop by and see for yourself!

The produce grown will help to supply the Good Cheer Food Bank this summer as the Garden Apprentice tends the grounds and hosts educational work parties on a weekly basis. For more information, please contact the School Garden Apprentice, Casey Jackson, at email@example.com
